LSU will host 2018 Tucker (Ga.) offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum on Friday, he confirmed to Tiger Blitz, which will be after a visit to Ole Miss on Thursday before the 4-star prospect heads to Texas on Saturday.
LSU offered the Scout 300 prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in Georgia in May and now will turn up the heat on a visit. In July, Wonnum told Scout that he was leaning towards heading out of state for college, with these visits set, that appears to hold true.
Tennesse, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina and Georgia were named by Wonnum as leaders in July, in that order.
The 6-5, 289-pound lineman checks in at No. 190 in the Scout 300 and is the No. 17 offensive tackle in 2017.
Stay tuned to Tiger Blitz for reaction from Wonnum to his visit to LSU on Friday.
SCOUT EVALUATION OF DYLAN WONNUM:
"Wonnum is an offensive tackle with good size, good feet, good flexibility and real upside. He is still raw, and he can improve his strength, his consistency with pad level, and refine his technique. As a run blocker, he comes off the ball well and he can knock the defender off the ball. He needs to work his hands better and not lean on the player as often. In pass protection, he flashes quickness and the ability to run edge rushers. He has a great frame that he is still developing. He needs to play stronger and add strength."
