It wasn't just a few weeks ago that Bossier City (La.) Parkway quarterback Justin Rogers wasn't hearing from LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada. After Boys from the Boot, where Rogers and Canada realized that Canada had been texting the wrong number, LSU finds itself firmly in the mix for Rogers.
LSU, Tennessee, TCU, North Carolina, Oregon, Louisville and Harvard dotted the Top 7 for the three-star quarterback.
"I'm thankful for my family who have been selfless and patient during this process," Rogers wrote on Twitter. "I thank all the coaches that have helped prepare me for the next level. I send a special shoutout to my brother for always raising the bar and making me grind."
The 6-3, 205-pound quarterback can now focus on these schools including the prestigious Ivy League school, Harvard, in working through a decision on where he will attend college.
“It will definitely relieve a lot of stress,” Rogers said in a message to Scout.com's Josh Harvey regarding him narrowing his list.
As a junior, Rogers accounted for 3,828 total yards and 42 total touchdowns. Rogers threw for 3,021 yards, 31 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while rushing for 709 yards and 11 TD's.
“He combines great arm strength and velocity with dangerous running ability, especially when passing plays break down and become scrambles,” said Scout.com recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks. Rogers can throw on the run or in the pocket and has a good feel for sensing pressure. He can improve footwork consistency ad ball security. Overall, Rogers is a high-major quarterback with all the tools as he projects to the next level.”
