LSU, Louisiana College will meet Tuesday to replace washed-out San Diego game

The Tigers and Wildcats collide at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Box.

The LSU baseball team will face Louisiana College at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Alex Box Stadium to replace the LSU-San Diego contest that was rained out earlier this week.

Fans may use their Game #9 LSU-San Diego tickets for admission.

“We feel it’s important to our season-ticket holders that we try to play a full home schedule, and this game will also help our team, particularly our pitching staff, to prepare for next weekend’s SEC opener against Georgia,” Tigers’ coach Paul Mainieri said in a release from the school. “Louisiana College has a very good club and a strong competitive history with LSU, so we’re looking forward to a great game, and we’re glad another Louisiana school has the opportunity to experience a game in Alex Box Stadium.”

LSU and Louisiana College have met 22 times since 1914, most recently in 2012, when the Tigers posted a 10-2 win over the Wildcats.
