2019 Georgia defensive back Kenyatta Watson talks LSU visit, recruiting

2019 Grayson (Ga.) defensive back Kenyatta Watson recaps his LSU visit and where his recruitment stands with Tiger Blitz.

2019 Grayson (Ga.) defensive back Kenyatta Watson visited LSU on Saturday for Junior Day and has the Tigers standing out to him after the visit.

"They were glad that we made it down," Watson told Scout. "Coach O said he was happy to see me again and that I got bigger than the last time he saw me at the school. They're very high on my list. I don't have one, but if there was a Top 5, LSU would definitely be in there."

Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond was impressed with the size the 6-2, 180-pound defensive back would bring to LSU's secondary. While he didn't get to talk with former LSU safety Jamal Adams, that was cool for Watson to see him at practice.

"Coach Raymond was surprised at my size. He said that they want me at LSU and told me about how he would develop me as a defensive back," Watson said.

Watson and his Grayson teammates watched about an hour of practice along with touring the facilities and checking out LSU's highlights. LSU sees Watson as a cornerback and he liked watching the LSU defensive backs go through drills.

"I liked how physical the players were, especially my position. It's like there was no fear in a single player," Watson said. "We also tried on jerseys, talked to the coaches and went into position drills with the coaches. http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1765098-5-star-wr...

"I liked how physical the players are and how smart they are too. Not many players are physical and smart at the same time."

Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee stand out along with LSU for Watson right now. The Seminoles and Volunteers have offered the sophomore.

"I like how long their (FSU) players are as I am a long player and how they produced athletes to the NFL at the defensive back position," Watson said. "I like how much they (Tennessee) care about the players. It's really not about football, but getting your education and then playing on Saturday nights."

Cincinnati and Ohio State will get a visit from Watson this weekend. He's hoping that Southern Cal and Texas will jump in with offers soon.
