2019 4-star California defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux talks LSU visit

As the offers continue to pile up, 2019 four-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux took a visit to LSU and talked with Tiger Blitz about his time in Baton Rouge.

2019 Dorsey (Calif.) defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux has plenty of family in Lake Charles, La., but made the quick trip over on Tuesday to visit LSU, watching practice, meeting with coaches and eat crawfish to get the real feel for Louisiana.

"It was fun. They treated us like family and we got to eat crawfish," Thibodeaux told Scout.

Ed Orgeron and the entire LSU staff welcomed the four-star prospect and friends to campus in the lobby. When Orgeron and Dave Aranda got Thibodeaux one on one, LSU's head coach compared him with players that have come through LSU and how the Tigers coaching staff can take advantage of the 6-4, 230-pound frame.

"We talked about all the players that came threw LSU and the players he coached. We also talked about how I would fit into the LSU defense," Thibodeaux said. "He compared me to the players and talked about my style of play and how I'm fast and have long arms."

After the LSU visit, Thibodeaux said LSU is firmly in the mix, but USC and UCLA are also recruiting the Californian extremely hard.

"Their (UCLA) jerseys are nice, but I haven't been there that much," Thibodeaux said. "With USC, everyone is cool and they players are treated nice."

Even though the visit made an impression on one of the top recruits in the 2019 class, he's all even heading into spring before his junior year.

"It is good that I got to visit and see things for my self, but I still put all the colleges in the same boat."

Stay tuned to Scout for more on Thibodeaux' recruitment and more on LSU's visitors this spring.
