LSU lands former 5-star defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko

LSU picked up a huge transfer in former Texas Tech defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko, who picked LSU over Auburn, Georgia and Ole Miss on Monday.

LSU landed a major transfer in former Texas Tech defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko on Monday, who announced his intentions to transfer to LSU on Twitter. Fehoko broke down his decision with Scout.

“Coming into this process I wanted one thing and one thing solely and that was development,” Fehoko told Scout. “I wanted to put myself in the best position possible to succeed. I always thought my style of play was matched for the SEC and I wanted to be apart of that.”

The former five-star defensive tackle will play defensive end in Dave Aranda's 3-4 scheme. Having Ed Orgeron and Pete Jenkins both on staff made the difference in the Hawaii native.

"Having a defensive line coach who is a legend & a head coach who is a defensive line coach by trade, that was the X-Factor," said the 6-3, 287-pound defensive tackle.

Fehoko will arrive in Baton Rouge in June to begin training with the Tigers, but will sit out the 2017 season, per transfer rules. He'll have two years of eligibility left starting in 2018. http://www.scout.com/college/lsu/story/1767764-lsu-best-visit-so-far-for...

"I hope to win the respect of my teammates, coaches and this fan base day by day," Fehoko said. "I also hope to fill the shoes of those great defensive lineman that have come before me."

In two seasons at Texas Tech, Fehoko started 25 games, compiled 38 tackles, two and a half sacks and seven and a half tackles for losses playing in the Big 12.
