LSU jumps to No. 2 overall 2018 recruiting class with spree of commitments

With a huge day on Saturday, LSU jumped to No. 2 in the Scout recruiting rankings for the 2018 class.

LSU landed two 2018 commitments on Saturday after the school's 7-on-7 Tournament, helping the Tigers jump to No. 2 in the Scout rankings.

Ed Orgeron's team jumped over Ohio State and now only trails Miami for the top class.

The Tigers currently hold the No. 1 class in the SEC after beating out Alabama and others for 4-star DL Dare Rosenthal and beating out Mississippi State for Ferriday teammate Dantrieze Scott

Outside linebackers coach Dennis Johnson has been a huge key to LSU's success on the trail, helping land Rosenthal and Scott, along with Scout 100 prospect Adam Anderson, defensive lineman Jamarcus Chatman and defensive tackle Jaquon Griffin out of Rome, Ga. Along with those five, Johnson also helped lock down Scout 300 outside linebacker Jarell Cherry.

The Tigers now hold 19 commitments for the 2018 class and will hold a huge camp from July 22-24, where more targets could pop and commit to LSU.

Stick with Scout for the latest on LSU's push for the No. 1 class in the country and what targets will be in Baton Rouge next weekend.
