Doucet down to two schools

With the prep football season over, St. Martinville's Early Doucet is receiving attention from some of the top football coaches in the country.

But the top-ranked wideout is only listening to two programs.

LSU and Miami.

"It's pretty good," said Doucet of the recruiting process. "I'm starting to get a lot of visits. I've already had one with Miami's receivers' coach and Coach Saban, (Will) Muschamp, and (Derek) Dooley were all here (Monday) night."

Doucet says he has an official visit to Miami planned for Dec. 19 and will make his last visit on Jan. 16 to LSU.

"I'll probably make my decision and commit after my visit to LSU," he said.

With Miami and LSU both near the top of the college football ranks right now, Doucet said his decision won't be easy.

"As far as athletics and academics go they're both second to none," he says. "The main thing I'm looking for is a comfort zone. Wherever I go is going to be my new home for the next four to five years, so I have to feel comfortable with the people and on the campus and in the area."

As for his in-home visit with the Tiger coaches, Doucet says he and his family were definitely impressed.

"Coach Saban did a good job. But I haven't met the coach for Miami yet, so I want to see what he has to say."
