LSU hard to beat for Steltz

Rummel safety Craig Steltz is starting to narrow down his list of schools, but says the LSU Tigers are currently still heavily in the running.

"My top schools are Colorado, UCLA, and LSU," says the 6-2 202-pounder, who is the younger brother of LSU fullback Kevin Steltz.

Steltz has admitted to being a lifelong Tiger fan but said he's not letting that cloud his decision.

"I really want to compare and see what else is out there," he said.

He plans on visiting both the Buffs and the Bruins on Jan. 12 and 19 respectively, but he said his last visit will be to Death Valley. Steltz attended the LSU-Arkansas game on an unofficial visit.

"Man, (LSU) really beat them," he said of the game. "It did look like it was going to be a shootout at the beginning but LSU took over."

Steltz imagines it would be tough for any school to top LSU when it comes to the game day experience.

"One of my favorite things is when the band walks out on the field," he said. "It's great."
