A former Tiger luring away an LSU prospect?

LSU is still high on the list for Texas offensive lineman Herman Johnson, but a former LSU player and coach is trying to keep this massive prospect from heading to the Tigers.

Johnson, a Denton, Texas, product, was in Dallas to watch an Oklahoma State practice. The Cowboys face Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2.

The 6-foot-7, 345-pound mammoth no longer plays basketball. He has already visited Oklahoma and will be at OSU on Jan. 9, LSU on Jan. 16 and Houston on Jan. 23.

Johnson's mother was also at Texas Stadium watching practice. They are natives of Louisiana where Herman first became familiar with Cowboy assistant coach Karl Dunbar, the former all-SEC defensive lineman for LSU.

Johnson said he is open among the four schools he is considering.
