Richard leaning out of state?

SAN ANTONIO - Destrehan defensive standout Darryl Richard has remained fairly quiet about his college preferences thuis far, but something about Alamo has caused him to speak out.

Richard is currently in San Antonio for today's U.S. Army All-American Game. He looks like he will start on the defensive line for the West squad, and he is enjoying a good week of practices and comaraderie.

The normally quiet recruit is also in the midst of a lot of media, coaches and fellow All-American high school seniors. And that makes for more discussion on his recruitment than he typically discloses. The word coming from San Antonio tonight is that Richard is leaning toward a top two of Miami and Colorado.

Those two schools come as a surprise to us, given that his last public comments gave five different schools of interest: Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, LSU, UCLA and Stanford.

Look for Richard and many other top talents in the 2004 Class when they play today at 12 noon Central on NBC.
