Family weighs in on Walker's LSU visit

Waco, Texas, cornerback Marcus Walker was lukewarm over a possible visit to LSU before last weekend's U.S. Army All-American game.

So what took place that now had Walker with a more certain mindset regarding a trip to Baton Rouge?

"The fact they won the national title has a little to do with it, but more importantly my grandmother wants me to take all my visits," said Walker. "I live with my grandmother, and she knows best. So I am going to visit LSU next weekend."

But even with a visit to LSU planned, Walker said Oklahoma and Florida State are still his leaders.

"I grew up a Florida State fan, but OU has been strong with me throughout this entire recruiting process," said Walker."Oklahoma stands very well with me right now. I know they graduate one corner, and if I work very hard I can go in there and earn some playing time early."

Walker said he spent time with Palestine, Texas, running Adrian Peterson, an Oklahoma commitment, and St. Martinville athlete Early Doucet, considered a strong LSU lean. He said Doucet pulled a hamstring during the practice week and was limited in the game.
