LSU not giving up on Richard

Destrehan defensive lineman Darryl Richard has had high compliments recently for the out-of-state schools recruiting him, leading most to believe that he is leaning against staying in Louisiana to attend college.

But has LSU, or any other school for that matter, jumped ahead for his commitment?

Colorado, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami and Notre Dame are the schools Richard said he is strongly considering at this point. Based on playing time, he said Georgia Tech presents the best opportunity to see action early.

"I think that I would have a two-year wait to get in the rotation at Miami or LSU," he said Not just a couple plays either. Like being a player that started or got a lot of playing time."

Richard said LSU is recruiting him the hardest right now, even after he has taken trips to Notre Dame and Georgia Tech and will go to Colorado and Miami later this month.

"I am not favoring anyone," he said. "I want to get these visits in first, and then I will think about it."

The only head coach to visit Richard's house has been Tyrone Willingham of Notre Dame.
