Carter sets decision timetable

Palm Bay, Fla., wide receiver Xavier Carter is winding down his itenerary of official visits and has come up with a probable timeline to make his commitment.

Carter is at Florida State this weekend, along with the other "X-man" from Florida, quarterback Xavier Lee of Daytona Beach.

Carter said he is not necessarily looking to follow Lee, who was his teammate in the U.S. Army All-American Game on Jan. 3, since all the schools that are recruiting him are well stocked at quarterback. "All the schools I'm looking at have high division 1A quarterback on their team so that won't be a factor," he said. Carter said the main two factors he's looking for in a school are academics and a program that will let him play both football and track.

"Right now I'm open but will most likely make my decision about a week after my visit to Florida," he said.

Carter will be in Gainesville next weekend. He's already been to LSU and Miami.
