Jackson gets the story straight

In the last week a tempest of speculation has swirled around the intentions of West St. John defensive end Tyson Jackson.

Recently Tiger Rag spoke with the 6-7 270-pound defensive end and cleared up any rumors concerning a change of commitment.

"I'm still strong with LSU," Jackson assures.

Jackson has been an LSU commitment for several months but interest in him has intensified in recent weeks, particularly from the Miami Hurricanes and Oklahoma State. Jackson visited Coral Gables over the weekend of Jan. 17. He says while he enjoyed his trip it did little to bring about any change in heart.

"It was a great trip," says Jackson. "It was something I'd never seen before. I just wanted to see it I think."

With 4.7-forty speed to go with his exceptional size, Jackson is one of the more intriguing prospects in LSU's 2004 recruiting class. He projects as possibly a dominant pass-rushing defensive end or could possibly gain some weight and move to offensive tackle, where his quick feet would make him a remarkable left tackle prospect.

Jackson is visiting LSU this weekend , just in time to witness the parade Baton Rouge is holding to honor the 2003 national champions. "I really feel like I know everything about LSU though," Jackson says.
