Record Setting New Orleans QB Names Top 5

Sean Santos of Holy Cross has been a starter since he was a freshman, and he has blown up his school passing records. He will be a player to keep an eye on this fall, and he names his early leaders.

Sean Santos is one of the top quarterback prospects in the south this year. He started at Holy Cross since he was a freshman, and he will leave his high school as a four year starter. The experience he has gotten has been invaluable as he has become extremely proficient in reading defenses. He has a lighting quick release and is almost impossible to sack because of the his vision and quick release.

He has piled up monster stats at Holy Cross, and his senior season should be no different. As a freshman, Santos threw for · Threw for 1235 yards and 12 touchdowns. He set season and career records at Holy Cross in only his sophomore season when he added 2,329 yards and 29 touchdowns to his freshman totals. He added 2,233 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior, adding on to his career record totals set the previous year.

This year, Santos has the ability to put his school records into the Cy Young level of untouchable with a big senior season. He has been on college radars for years, but now it's finally his turn to go through the recruiting process. Who are some of the schools that Santos is giving a strong look?

"Right now, my Top 5 is Alabama, Kentucky, LSU, Texas Tech, and Miami," said Santos. "LSU was my favorite team growing up. I attended the LSU Junior Day last Sunday and got some very good comments from Coach Jimbo Fisher. I'm attending the Alabama Junior Day this Saturday. I try and compare my game to Ty Detmer and Drew Brees. They are great leaders and lead by example."

I got a chance to watch Santos throw the ball this week on tape, and I think he has the chance to be a very good college quarterback. As mentioned his release is as quick as any I've seen, and he gets good accuracy on the ball. He doesn't need a full wind up to deliver the pass with accuracy and velocity. He has the ability to throw from different angles depending on the pressure in his face.

Santos gets it done in the classroom as well as on the football field, and he is definitely a player to keep an eye on as he sets more records in his senior season and college coaches come calling.
