Clarence Ward Update: More offers coming

Clarence Ward committed to LSU on March 1 but the scholarship offers continue to roll in for the free safety/quarterback out of La Marque (Texas).

"Arizona, UCLA and TCU offered me since I committed," said the 6-1, 180-pounder.

Texas A&M and Missouri also extended offers to Ward but he said he is solid as a rock with his commitment to LSU.

"I'm 100 percent sure," said Ward who is rated the 23rd best player in the Lonestar State by The Insiders. "I feel like it was a good choice because I like the surroundings, the coaches and the players. I wouldn't change my decision unless LSU backed out."

Ward is going to start on both sides of the ball for La Marque during his senior campaign and he has spent most of the spring preparing for his new role as quarterback. However, it is obvious what side of the ball the talented athlete would like to focus on.

"I work at quarterback every day," he said. "We run a lot of option out of the gun but we throw it too. Things are going good but defense is where my heart is. I'm just going to do it for my team."

Ward is excited about his upcoming trip to Baton Rouge that he will make this weekend for the Tigers' spring game but it doesn't sound like he needs any reinforcement on his decision
