Recruiting just as hectic for coaches

Recruiting can be just as hectic for high school coaches as it is for the prospects themselves.

Such is the case for Carencro (La.) recruiting coordinator/assistant coach Tony Courville.

Courville has been a busy man since his team kicked off spring practice with college coaches from all parts of the country venturing down to South Louisiana to check out some of his college prospects.

The kid most coaches are anxious to see in person is athlete Lucas Taylor (6-0, 180, 4.4) and for good reason.

"Nick Saban was here today," Courville told Tiger Rag. "He likes him a lot. He said they're holding back on offers right now because of the scholarship limitations. This was his first day on the road recruiting and this was his first stop."

While Taylor does not have an offer from the defending BCS National Champs but he does have offers from Miami, Florida State, Michigan, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State.

Courville expects to be very busy the next couple of weeks until the spring evaluation period comes to an end. But for now he must play host to some of the top coaches in the profession.

"Les Miles (Oklahoma State) is coming today and Steven Ensminger (Auburn) was in here yesterday," Courville said. "They all love him. Next week Notre Dame is coming down."
