Horton reflects on Saban visit

New Orleans-Abramson defensive end/outside linebacker Alonzo Horton (6-4, 215, 4.6) got a visit from Nick Saban and Bobby Williams a couple of weeks ago and he hopes that visit helps him gain a scholarship offer from the defending National Champs.

"My coach and principal told me that coach Saban said he loves my size and speed," said Horton. "He told them he loves the type of player I am. I'm hoping and wishing he wants me to be a part of LSU."

Saban has not extended an offer to Horton and the reason could be he is waiting on Horton's latest ACT results to come in.

That has not stopped other schools from offering him a scholarship and some others said they will soon follow suit.

"I've got offers from Auburn, Michigan State, and Southern Miss," Horton told Tiger Rag. "Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Michigan said they were going to offer. I'm hoping LSU offers. My top five is LSU, Auburn, Michigan State, Miami and Georgia."

Horton said if he does pick up that much anticipated LSU offer then he will likely commit on the spot.
