LSU eyeing Parkview's Lennox

Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge, La. has already given Nick Saban two commitments for the Class of 2005 in linebacker Derry Beckwith and defensive tackle Lyle Hitt.

There is a chance that number could rise to three if Saban gives quarterback/cornerback Jacob Lennox an invitation to join the Tigers' program.

"LSU would be my first choice," Lennox told Tiger Rag. "Coach (Jimbo) Fisher wants me to come out to their camp so they can see me a little more on defense. He said I'm a good athlete and I have good feet. I know what to do out there and I have good instincts."

Lennox (6-2, 180, 4.5) played primarily at quarterback last season but he will get a chance to showcase his skills more on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback during his senior season.

Coaches from Alabama, Auburn and Southern Miss have shown the most interest in Lennox thus far along with LSU but the Tigers are definitely the team to beat.

"I always liked LSU," said Lennox who accounted for over 2,050 yards of total offense and 28 scores as a junior. "That is where I always wanted to go and hopefully I'll get the chance."
