New Orleans standout Russell to attend LSU camp

Robert Russell of New Orleans-Landry is one of the many prospects from around the South who are planning on making LSU's final summer camp session in July.

Nick Saban's camps have always been a big hit but coming off of the national championship season makes this year's camps even hotter.

LSU has not offered Russell but the Tigers' coaching staff does want to take a closer look at the 6-1, 210-pounder. Russell does claim to have offers from Notre Dame, Southern Miss, South Carolina and Southern Illinois but he wants an offer from the Tigers.

"That is the school I know the most about," Russell told Tiger Rag. "I like the whole atmosphere over there. I like the school, the stadium, the facilities and the academic program they offer."

As for naming a leader Russell took the high road and just named his top five.

"I know who I like and that is Miami, Michigan, LSU, Florida and Florida State," he said.
