Update: Mamou WR Laterryl Savoy

The Michigan Wolverines picked up a commitment from Louisiana's No. 1 receiver prospect for 2005 when Laterryal Savoy of Mamou gave them a verbal.

A couple of months have passed since then so has anything changed?

"Right now I'm still committed to Michigan," said the 6-3, 200-pound wideout. "I'm keeping my options open but I'm pretty firm with my commitment."

Savoy is getting some pressure from the local community to stay in-state but he has not picked up the one offer he has been waiting on.

Auburn, Ole Miss and South Carolina have tossed its names in the hat with offers but LSU has always been the team to beat.

Nick Saban and Savoy got to spend some time together at Saban's first summer camp session but Savoy left Baton Rouge without the scholarship offer from the Tigers he was hoping to pick up.

"It went well," Savoy said of the camp experience. "Coach Saban said they would stay in touch and not to rule them out. He said to keep looking around and to keep all of my options open."

Next on Savoy's camp agenda is a trip to Ann Arbor, Mich. to get a first hand look at what the Wolverines have to offer.

"I want to see the campus and what the atmosphere is like," he said. "Mainly, I want to see what they have to offer academically."

Whichever school Savoy ends up going to it will be getting a good possession receiver with a ton of potential.
