Las Vegas LB Reynolds at top of LSU's list

Ryan Reynolds is one of the most heavily recruited linebackers in the country and at the top of LSU's board.

He is rated the fourth best linebacker prospect in the land by TheInsiders and that ranking could rise before National Signing Day arrives in February.

Reynolds stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 220 pounds with 4.6 speed in the forty-yard dash. He has every thing you want in a linebacker with speed, strength, quickness, toughness and an overall passion for the game.

Last season he racked up 96 tackles, six sacks and forced three fumbles in leading Bishop Gorman's defensive attack.

The Las Vegas (Nevada) native took an unofficial trip to Baton Rouge back in April to get a taste of the Tiger's program and he liked what the defending national champs had to offer.

Reynolds was attending a camp at Washington and unavailable for comment but Tiger Rag did speak to his mother and sometimes parents know just as much as the prospects themselves.

"He and his father went to LSU over spring break and they both said LSU was awesome," said Barbara Reynolds. "They were very impressed with the school, the coaches, the players and the academic center. My husband said that the academic center was the best they had seen."

The schools that figure to have a legitimate shot at landing Reynolds includes Oklahoma, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Wisconsin and Washington along with the Tigers but LSU obviously has a better shot than some thought of luring the talented linebacker down South.

"LSU is definitely in his top five or six," Barbara said. "Distance will not make a difference either. He wants to go somewhere he can play pretty quickly and where they have real good coaches."
