UPDATE: Gary Riggs, Jennings, La.

Jennings (La.) safety Gary Riggs has been leaning to LSU ever since he realized he would have a chance to play major college football.

A rumor has been going around that Riggs picked up an offer from the Tigers but Tiger Rag spoke to him to set the record straight.

"They have not offered yet," Riggs told Tiger Rag. "I went to their camp (June) and they said they wanted to see what happens with some of the out-of-state players they offered."

Riggs gets hand-written letters from the LSU coaching staff on a daily basis along with written correspondence from Florida and Tennessee. Ole Miss and South Carolina have already offered so the prospect of playing in the SEC looks pretty good for the 6-3, 205-pounder.

Does LSU still lead for his services or has another Southeastern Conference school pushed into the lead?

"I still consider LSU my leader but I like Florida and Tennessee too," said Riggs, who is academically qualified. "Florida and Tennessee said they were sending an offer in the mail but I haven't gotten them yet. LSU is still No. 1 though."
