Miss. DT Wilson always been an LSU fan

Calvin Wilson is a big athletic offensive tackle from Hattiesburg, Miss. who has been an LSU fan for many years.

The 6-6, 320-pounder is one of the best at his position in the South and he has a written offer from the Tigers.

"I have always liked LSU," Wilson told Tiger Rag. "They have been one of my favorites for a while now. I really like the academic program and the fact they have a great fan base."

LSU defensive coordinator Will Muschamp has taken the lead role in recruiting Wilson and thus far he has made a good impression on the big man.

"I like him a lot," said Wilson, who is a full academic qualifier. "He is a real good coach and a good recruiter. He said to continue to work hard and I would have a good chance of playing early."

With eight offers and counting Wilson was reluctant to name a leader but LSU was always the first school that rolled off the tip of his tongue.

"I have an offer from LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, USM (Southern Miss), Tennessee, Marshall and West Virginia," Wilson said. "LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Auburn stick out."

The magnolia state standout has some good options to choose from and he knows exactly what he is looking for in a school.

"I want a school that is close to home and has a good team," he said. "I want to have a chance to win and to get a good education."

Does LSU fit that description?

"Yes sir," he replied. "Baton Rouge is only two hours away and they have a great tradition over there."
