It's a hoax, Perrilloux did not committ

Tiger fans can breathe a sigh of relief because all of the rumors circulating concerning Ryan Perrilloux and his commitment to Texas are strictly rumors and not fact.

"I did not commit," Perrilloux said. "I did not commit but I said I like Texas and I might want to play football there. But I did not commit. I guess that is where the rumors came from."

Perrilloux returned from the Elite 11 camp on Sunday and was scheduled to attend LSU's camp starting on Monday.

Is he still scheduled to make that camp?

"I will be there starting tomorrow," he said.

Sonny's Take: I only got about two minutes of Perrilloux's time because his mother called and wanted to speak with him. I did ask him if he was still looking at the same teams (LSU, Texas, USC, Georgia, FSU) and he said yes. I made repeated attempts to reach him again without any success.

I will give you my two cents worth and hopefully I will not have egg on my face in the next few days. I feel that Perrilloux made a comment at the camp and some writer or writers wanted to break the big story without making sure it was news and not a rumor. I could be wrong but that is what it sounds like to me.

I still think LSU has a shot at Perrilloux but like he said in an earlier update Texas has a slight edge. Do I think Texas is the team to beat? Yes. Can LSU overcome that edge? I say yes. Will it take some outstanding work by Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher? Definitely.
