Coaches announce SEC All-Freshman team

Ten of the 12 Southeastern Conference football squads are represented on the second annual SEC Coaches' All-Freshman team, released Thursday from the conference office in Birmingham, Ala.

He also played on LSU's special teams. He made two catches for 20 yards on offense and recorded  eight tackles and a sack on defense.

Wilkerson started at center for LSU in the last seven games of the season, during which the Tigers posted a 6-1 mark.

Ole Miss leds the SEC with four selections on the coaches All-Freshman team, followed by Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia and Vanderbilt with three each. LSU and Tennessee each have two selections and Mississippi State had one on the team. Florida and South Carolina did not have a player on the squad.

Georgia quarterback David Greene was voted the league's Freshman of the Year. The Lithonia, Ga., native is fifth in the SEC and 23rd in the nation in passing efficiency. This season, Greene completed 192 of 324 passes for 2,789 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He led the Bulldogs to an 8-3 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the SEC.
