LSU pushing for top OL from Fla.

LSU is making a big push in the Sunshine State for its top players and Nick Saban finds himself leading for the state's top offensive lineman.

Matt Hardrick of Winter Park (FL) Edgewater is ranked No. 9 in the country by for offensive linemen and he has the scholarship offers to support that ranking.

"I have around 45-50 offers," Hardrick said. "My top six is Miami, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Ole Miss. "I would have to say LSU and Florida State would be my main leaders. Right now, I would have to say LSU as a slight edge because I have been there."

Hardrick said he has made up his mind on four of his official visits (LSU, FSU, Miami, OU) with Nebraska and Ole Miss battling for his fifth and final visit.

What stands out the most with the big man's top two schools?

"With LSU it is the way they run their education system," he said. "Nick Saban and the rest of his staff are good. I like the tradition they have and the people are real down to earth. When I went there for a camp it was a great place."

How about the Noles?

"It is close to home and I have friends up there," he said. "I would not be lonely over there. From what I hear coach Bowden is a great coach too."

One thing Hardrick will have to overcome is getting a qualifying test score with only a few chances. He has yet to take the ACT or SAT and plans on doing so late in his season so hopefully that will not come back to haunt him.

As for his GPA, he said that is taken care of.
