Fla. LB Moffett narrows list to seven

If Neefy Moffett had to choose where he was going to play his college football at he would have a tough decision on his hands.

The 6-1, 220 pound linebacker from Melbourne (Fla.) Palm Bay has seven schools he likes but four in particular and LSU is one of the lucky four.

"My top four are Florida State, LSU, Miami and Ohio State," Moffett said. "I know I want to visit them and Texas, Oklahoma and USC are battling for the fifth visit."

A couple of weeks ago the nation's 16th rated linebacker said Miami was his leader but thing have changed a little since then.

"Everybody is pretty much the same," he said.

When asked if anything separates any of the schools in his list from the others he replied, "Miami has the city to live in and the beach but LSU has Pee Wee (Xavier Carter)."

Carter is playing a big part in helping the LSU coaching staff recruit Moffett and he keeps him up to speed on how the Tigers' linebacker corps is faring through fall camp.

"He tells me how they have a lot of upperclassmen at linebacker and some young guys but nobody I can't beat out," Moffett said.

Carter and Moffett got to spend some time together not too long ago at Nick Saban's camp (July). It was Moffett's first visit to the LSU campus and he gave it a thumb's up when it was time to head back to South Florida.

"I liked the campus and the dorms were real nice," said Moffett. "The academic center was nice too. It was a good visit."
