Fla. RB Lucky lists LSU among top five

Marlon Lucky's first scholarship offer was from LSU back in March and since that Spring day the North Hollywood (Calif.) running back has picked up offers from just about every school he showed an interest in and more.

The nation's fifth rated running back stands at 5-10, 210 pounds runs a 4.5-forty and has moves to kill. He was the workhorse in North Hollywood's backfield last season with 1,778 yards and 31 scores on 221 rushes.

Lucky has taken the first step in narrowing his choices down by deciding on his five official visits and LSU will get one of them.

"I have decided to take my officials to LSU, Washington, Mississippi State, Florida and Nebraska (10/16)," he said. "I have offers from all of them."

The topflight back will also take an unofficial visit that will be just as important, if not more, than his officials.

"There is no need to take an official to USC (offer) because it is right down the street," he said. "USC is my leader for now because I know a lot about them and how they do things."

Lucky took notice of LSU's program during his junior season when the Tigers were making their run to the BCS National Championship. He saw a true freshman running back step in to lead the team in rushing and got excited when Nick Saban told him it could be him one day.

"Coach Saban called and said he needed another great back to follow after (Justin) Vincent and that blew me away," Lucky said. "I saw him run in the championship game and he was balling."

The Tigers have some ground to make up on the Trojans but they have struck an interest in Lucky's eyes.

"I like the way they win and the offense they run," he said. "I don't know a lot about the school so that is why I want to take a visit there."
