TIGER RAG Q&A: Josh McNeil

Josh McNeil (6-4, 275, 5.2) of Collins (Miss.) is considered the nation's top center prospect for the Class of 2005 and Tiger Rag caught up with him for a little Q&A to get an idea of where LSU ranks with the other schools he is considering.

Tiger Rag: How do you feel about LSU at this point in time?

McNeil: LSU is one of my top schools.

Tiger Rag: What is it that you like about LSU and what are some of the things that standout with the Tigers?

McNeil: The first thing that stands out is that they are the national champions.  I also like the overall environment of Baton Rouge and the facilities that they have.

Tiger Rag: What coach or coaches are recruiting you from LSU and what are your impressions of them?

McNeil: I hear from Coach Saban, coach (Will) Muschamp and coach (Stacy) Searles.  I like all of them because they are down to earth and you can really connect with them on a personal level.

Tiger Rag: Do you have a top five right now and if so who would it be?

McNeil: My top schools in no particular order are LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State and Georgia

Tiger Rag: Out of your top five do you have a leader (or leaders) and if not who are the schools you are keeping a close eye on?

McNeil: I am keeping my options open at this time.

Tiger Rag: Out of the schools that you mention where does LSU stand compared to the others?

McNeil: Right now all of my top schools are even but LSU, Mississippi State, Florida, and Florida State standout the most.

Tiger Rag: Have you thought about which schools you would like to take official visits to and do you have any set up?

McNeil: I know I am taking official visits to LSU, Mississippi State, and Florida.  I know I'm taking my visit to Florida on Oct. 2, Mississippi State on Oct. 23 and I talked with Coach Saban about taking my visit to LSU the 2nd week in December.  I will decide on my other 2 visits from my other favorites.

Tiger Rag: How do you feel your senior season has gone so far?

McNeil: It has gone very well.  We are undefeated so far and are working hard to get back to the state championship. I haven't allowed any sacks and I have numerous pancakes.
