The game will be LSU's lone exhibition game before opening the regular season on Nov. 11 by hosting the Women's College Sports Foundation Classic.
Pokey Chatman, who led the Lady Tigers to a 15-5 record and the Final Four as acting head coach last season, begins her reign as head coach on Tuesday. Chatman was named LSU head coach in April following the retirement of Sue Gunter.
Seimone Augustus, the preseason
Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, leads the Lady Tigers. The 6-1
junior guard earned Kodak All-America honors last season after averaging 19.4
points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Temeka Johnson, a preseason All-SEC selection along with Augustus, also returns. The 5-3 senior point guard led the Lady Tigers and the SEC with 8.3 assists last season to go along with 12.9 points per outing.
Wendlyn Jones also returns as a starter
from last season. The 6-1 forward started 17 games for the Lady Tigers last
season and averaged 6.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Also returning from the 2003-04 Final Four squad are seniors Crystal White, Florence Williams and Tillie Willis, junior Scholanda Hoston, sophomore Hanna Biernacka, and redshirt freshmen Khalilah Mitchell and Marian Whitfield.
Everyone's Internet is a traveling team
consisting of former collegiate players. They are coached by the WNBA's Houston
Comets assistant coach Kevin Cook and open their 14-game swing against LSU. They
LSU will be without Willis, Mitchell and freshman Quianna Chaney for Tuesday's game because of suspensions due to violations of team rules.
