Augustus connected on all 11 of her field goals to record her 34th straight double figure scoring game and her 31st 20-plus point game of her career.
LSU (8-0) used a 16-0 run after North Texas (2-2) scored the opening two points of the game to pull away and used solid defense to secure the victory. The Lady Tigers forced 29 turnovers, collected 11 blocked shots recorded 22 steals that led to 28 points in the win.
"Our pressure was the high scorer for us tonight," LSU head coach Pokey Chatman said. "We had 28 points off turnovers. Thank goodness we were able to do that because we didn't quite execute in the half court offense and I give that credit to North Texas."
LSU did shoot 50.0 percent from the floor, but managed 18 turnovers and connected on just eight of 16 free throws.
North Texas shot 37.0 percent from the floor and was outrebounded by the Lady Tigers 37-36.
After LSU's 16-0 run in the first half, North Texas used an 8-0 run of their own to pull within six points, but that is as close as the score would get the remainder of the game. The Lady Tigers led 41-25 at the break and then by as many as 28 in the second half.
In addition to Augustus, three other Lady Tigers scored in double figures, including Sylvia Fowles, who recorded her fourth double double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Temeka Johnson and Scholanda Hoston both added 10 points in the win.
Talicia Sanders led UNT with 12 points, while Mia Ajekwu had 11 and Amana Quattrocchi added 10.
LSU will take two weeks off for final exams before returning to the court on Dec. 14 to face Minnesota on national television in Minneapolis.
