Shelley gives LSU high marks after visit

Slick Shelley of Fort Smith (Ark.) visited LSU over the weekend and the nation's 20th rated receiver said the trip was perfect all the way around.

"It was great," Shelley told Tiger Rag. "I liked everything about LSU. The facilities were top of the line from the academic center all the way down to the apartments the players stay in. The trip was a perfect 10."

LSU would like to sign at least one wide out in this class and Shelley got a good idea of where the coaches rack him on their board.

"I sat down and asked coach Miles what they thought of me and he said they wouldn't be recruiting me if they didn't expect big things out of me," Shelley said. "They said I was a top priority and I liked that."

Something else Shelley likes is the idea of possibly teaming up with Ryan Perrilloux if the signal caller decides to sign with LSU over Texas and Mississippi State.

"I called him one time and we talked about it," Shelley said. "I know he is taking his visit there this weekend and we will just have to see. It would be great to go in together because I know he would get me the ball."

Next up for Shelley is his official visit to Tennessee this weekend and then it will be decision time. He said he is down to the Tigers and the Vols but everyone will have to wait until signing day to find out who comes out on top.

"I'm going to announce on signing day and it is going to be between those two," he said.
