Lady Tigers reclaim top spot in poll

LSU's Lady Tigers basketball team returned to the top spot in Tuesday's USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll and remained No. 2 in the Associated Press poll released on Monday.

LSU (18-1, 5-0 SEC) defeated Arkansas 91-45 last Thursday and won 79-68 at then-No.17/15 Vanderbilt on Sunday to remain perfect in the Southeastern Conference.

With then No. 1 Duke falling at North Carolina on Monday night, the coaches' poll vaulted LSU back up to No. 1 with 996 points and 38 of the 40 first-place votes.

The AP poll, released on Monday afternoon, kept LSU No. 2 with 1093 points and 14 first-place votes. Duke is No. 1 with 1,107 points and 31 first-place votes.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Sunday when they host Auburn at 2 p.m. CST in the Maravich Center.
