Is a new DE taking a look at the Tigers?

This weekend marks the last chance for recruits to take their official visits to college campuses before national signing day on Feb. 6. A defensive lineman from Georgia could decide today if he makes a trip to LSU.

Defensive end Aaron Scranton (6-6, 235) of Buford, Ga., just went to Arkansas this past weekend and was previously a lean to Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets and Razorbacks have been under consideration for a while, but the Tigers may enter the picture for Scranton at the last second.

"I've got it down to Georgia Tech and Arkansas right now," said Scranton. "Arkansas' campus was beautiful, and I like the way they do things there. I may visit LSU this weekend; one of the LSU coaches is supposed to come by and see me at school. If I don't, I'll probably have a decision this weekend."

Scranton was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player of the Florida-Georgia All-Star game after recording six tackles, three stops behind the line, a forced fumble and a sack. Ole Miss and Alabama extended invitations for visits to Scranton after the all-star game, and he also expressed an interest in South Carolina.
