The Shreveport area has been a hotbed for receiving talent, dating back to Abram Booty and Richard Williams' days at Evangel. At nearby Fair Park, Reggie Robinson and Ronnie Prude were also hotly sought after in their senior years.
Add Haughton High School to the list because that's where college coaches will be stopping in to see Devondric Tezeno (TEZ-ah-no). The 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete was a Class 4A all-state selection after accumulating 1,147 yards and 13 touchdowns on 70 catches as a junior.
"His potential is unlimited," said Haughton coach Rodney Guin. "He's got great hands. I don't think he dropped a catchable ball all year long. He needs to work on his speed a little bit, but he has great potential."
According to Guin, a host of schools are showing interest in Tezeno and LSU is currently in the mix. Tezeno is seriously considering attending camps at Auburn and Texas A&M this summer.
