LSU-Long Beach rained out for Friday

Friday's LSU-Long Beach State baseball game, which was scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start, has been postponed due to heavy rain in the Baton Rouge area.

The teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. Fans should use Friday's Game 8 ticket for admission to the first game on Saturday. The stadium will be cleared after the first game, and fans will be admitted to the second game with a Game 9 ticket.

The third game of the series is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, as originally scheduled. LSU, 8-3, is ranked No. 7 this week in the ESPN/Baseball Weekly poll. Long Beach State, 6-4, enters the series ranked No. 24 by ESPN/Baseball Weekly.

Saturday's first game can be heard in the Baton Rouge area only on WJNH-FM (107.3), and the second game will either be carried by WJNH-FM (107.3) or WDGL-FM (98.1). Sunday's game will be broadcast on the entire LSU Sports Network, including WDGL-FM (98.1) in the Baton Rouge area.

Sunday's game is scheduled to be televised on a tape-delayed basis in the Baton Rouge area only at 7 p.m. on Cable Channel 4.
