Honors continue to pile on for Chatman

INDIANAPOLIS -- Pokey Chatman, the head coach of LSU's Lady Tigers basketball team, was named the 2004-05 Black Coaches Association (BCA) Female Coach of the Year; it was announced by the organization this week

This is the second straight year Chatman has received the honor.

Chatman, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, United States Basketball Writers Association and the Naismith National Coach of the Year this past season, guided LSU to a 33-3 overall record, the program's first Southeastern Conference regular season title and a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four.

The Award winners, including Washington's Lorenzo Romar, the male coach of the year, were chosen in a vote by BCA members.
