Hoops' Minor suspended through fall semester

LSU basketball guard Tack Minor has been suspended for the summer and fall semesters for an academic related infraction of the University's Code of Student Conduct, head coach John Brady has announced.

Minor will not participate in any activities with the basketball team until the 2005 fall semester is completed in December.

"There are certain academic standards at LSU which will which not be compromised, and as the coach at LSU, I am going to enforce those standards without exception," said Brady. "Tack has improved in many ways since he has been at LSU, but sometimes as coaches we encounter disciplinary situations concerning our student-athletes that must be made.

"Tack recognizes his mistake and takes responsibility for it, and I am confident he will learn a valuable lesson from this," Brady said. "He will get his career back on track beginning in December and will not let this deter him from his goal to earn his degree from LSU."

Due to student privacy issues, LSU will not comment further on this action.

"I take full responsibility for my actions, and I am sorry that I have let down my family, teammates and coaches, and LSU's fans," Minor said. "I am going to come back ready to help this team, and I am more dedicated than ever to getting my degree from LSU."
