PROFILE 2003: Davious Gillespie (RB)

The state of Mississippi looks like it will produce a bevy of talented running backs for the 2003 recruiting class, and one is taking a serious look at LSU.

One of the top running back from the state of Mississippi is Davious Gillespie (6-0, 205), who rushed for over 1,400 yards for Tupelo High School in 2001.

"I think I am a pretty versatile back that can block and catch as well," said Gillespie. "I run with power and I will run over you but I can also make a move or two."

Gillespie says his two school favorites are LSU and Florida.

"I also like Arkansas, Mississippi State and Notre Dame," he said. "I know I may have to red-shirt at the next level because there is so much to learn. But I want to find a place where I can contribute by my second year."
