PRACTICE REPORT: Aug. 10 - Evening

Hot-sot freshman quarterback Ryan Perrilloux's struggles continued Wednesday afternoon as the freshmen went through their final seperate workout of fall camp at the Charles McClendon Football Practice Facility

The freshmen will join the veterans in the Tigers first full workout at 9:45 Thrusday morning.

The Tiger Gridiron Club paid a visit to practice Wednesday afternoon as 150 members of the popular booster organization were on hand to view Les Miles ball club.

With his largest audience to date as an LSU Tiger, Perrilloux had his worst practice yet throwing the ball all over the place. Whether over the middle, the deep ball or the short out, Perrilloux was off the mark. Even his completions came with plenty of excitement. Walk-on freshman quarterback James Welker completed more passes than the heralded Perrilloux.

On the receiving end of a few of those Perrilloux/Welker passes was freshman Brandon Lafell. You can't say enough about the 6-3 (let's call him 190) Houston native. He is still wet behind the ears and will join someelite company tomorrow, but this guys upside is endless.

Paying a visit to the offensive line today, the freshmen duo of Ciron Black and Max Holmes look to be a pair of quality rookies that look athletic enough to play as soon as next season. Black (6-5) and Holmes (6-4) look a bit shorter than their listed heights, but both mixed it with some of LSU's veteran reserve linemen.

Black could stand to lose a few pounds around the middle, but Holmes appears to be in good shape physically.

More on the construction front. At the varsity practic this morning, seven of the 10 sections of the upper deck were in place as of 9 a.m. At 4 p.m. this afternoon, another section and a half had been installed leaving just a section and a half of the structure to be erected.

The full deck structure is likely to be in place by the weekend. Weather proofing and the bleacher seating on the south end of the deck has already began.
