2003 PROFILE - Matthew Flynn (QB)

When you're a quarterback and your email address begins with "deepball 11", D-I recruiters are more than likely going to pay attention. <br><br> They're paying attention to Flynn.

Colleges are already taking a strong interest in Flynn, the quarterback at Lee High School in Tyler, Texas. At 6-foot-2 1/2, 218 pounds, many teams feel he already possesses ideal college size. He has been clocked at 4.6 in the 40-yard dash, making him a mobile passer. 

In his junior season, Flynn completed 101 of 199 attempts  for 1,643 yards with 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Flynn's combine-type numbers include a 250-pound bench press and squat of 370. He's been measured at 36 inches in the vertical leap and clocked a 4.0 seconds in the pro shuttle.

With a B average and a 970 score on the SAT, Flynn is already academically qualified.

As on this writing, te top schools Flynn is considering are Tennessee, LSU, Baylor, Texas Tech and Alabama. Baylor is the only school that's offered him scholarship but he plans to attend camps at Baylor, LSU, Alabama and Texas Tech.
