LSU a definite #1

Three-star offensive lineman Steven Singleton is one of the op offensive linemen in Georgia and he has been sitting on an offer from LSU for a few months.

The 6-3, 293 pound guard from Buford (Ga.) took his first official visit this past weekend to check out the LSU program and the Tigers passed with flying colors.

"I had a real good time," Singleton said. "I'd give it a nine. The people in Baton Rouge were so friendly everywhere you went. Ciron Black was my host and he was real cool."

Although this was Singleton's first official visit, he had been to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State unofficially.

Which school impressed him the most?

"LSU probably impressed me more," he said. "They seem to have it all from the facilities on down to the academic center."

Singleton is well aware of the huge need LSU has for offensive linemen so it came as no surprise that the coaches tried to get him to commit before he headed back to the Peach State.

"They wanted me to but I told them I wanted to sleep on it and then I'd let them know," he said. "They understood but they reiterated that they really wanted me. Coach (Les) Miles said he wanted me to be a piece of the next great offensive line that he will have at LSU."

Singleton said he may take an official visit to South Carolina this weekend or the next and that he is also considering Mississippi State and West Virginia.

Those schools are still in the running but they have a good bit of ground to make up.

"LSU is definitely No. 1 on my list and they have a big lead," said Singleton.
