Dickson says LSU is in the lead

All throughout the recruiting process, Ocean Springs (Miss.) tight end Richard Dickson (6-4, 238, 4.7) has been wide open to all of the schools recruiting him and could not name a leader.

Now, the Magnolia State standout has a clear leader and LSU fans will love what he says.

"LSU is definitely No.1 right now," Dickson told Tiger Rag. "I'm down to LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Miami."

What pushed the Tigers to the top of his list?

"I feel really comfortable with the coaches over there and I love the atmosphere," he said.

Dickson was in town two weeks in a row when LSU defeated Florida and Auburn. He witnessed the Tigers beat the Gators in an afternoon contest and the next week he took in his first night game at Tiger Stadium.

We all know that Tiger Stadium has a reputation for being one of the best venues in the country for a night game and for Dickson it lived up to all of the hype.

"The atmosphere was a lot better at night," he said. " It was a lot louder. You could tell the players seemed so much more into it at night. They kept pointing to the student section and the students would just get louder. The team fed off of that a lot."

Other than LSU, Dickson has been to games at Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. When asked if any of the other places he had been to topped his experience at LSU, he responded, "I'd never been to a game like the last one at LSU."
