Tebow talks about upcoming visit

Last weekend LSU did not have any prospects in town for an official visit and Tiger Rag has been able to confirm that only one is scheduled to come in this weekend.

But, oh my, what a big-time prospect he is.

"We're flying in on Saturday," said Tim Tebow, who is Scout.com's third rated quarterback in the land. "This is the last home game we could make so we decided this would be a good time to go back. Although it is not going to be that good of a game it will still be fun."

Tebow took an unofficial visit to LSU when the Tigers beat Florida nearly three weeks ago and at the time many believed it was a trip to check out the Gators more so than the home team.

However, Tebow said he saw enough on that trip to know that LSU was a school he wanted to take a closer look at.

"We really like the coaches and the program," said the 6-3, 225-pounder from St. Augustine (Fla.) Nease. "The place is an exciting environment and the coaching staff is top-notch. I really like coach (Jimbo) Fisher and Coach (Les) Miles and the offense they run."

The five-star signal caller has already taken an official to Alabama (10/21) and his other three visits have been set with Michigan (11/18), Florida (11/25) and USC (12/3).

We know what he likes about LSU but what about the other four finalists?

Florida-- "I like coach Meyer and coach Mullen (offensive coordinator). They are doing a good job with the program and I really feel comfortable with them."

Alabama-- "They have a great staff of coaches of real high character. I think coach Shula has them going in a good direction and they will be good for a while. They have a great tradition over there too."

Michigan-- "The coaches have come down a lot and I've gotten to know them real well. They have a great program even though things are not going that great right now. They do a good job of getting quarterbacks ready for the next level."

USC-- "USC speaks for itself. They have a great program and is always challenging for a national championship."

The resounding theme among Tebow's favorites is how he feels about the coaches at each school and the winning tradition each team has.

So, it should not come as much of a surprise as to what will factor into his decision.

"The coaching staff will play a big role and the place I feel the most comfortable at," said Tebow. "I want a place rich with tradition and that I can win at. All five schools will give me that opportunity."

Tebow has tentatively set his announcement date for Dec. 14 on ESPN.

At that time we will know which coach will be getting an early Christmas gift.
