In nine games, the Tigers have yielded 124 points for an average of 13.8 points per game. LSU has allowed only one touchdown over its last 12 quarters and the Tigers have given up only one first quarter touchdown all season.
In terms of yards allowed per game, LSU is giving up 294.4 yards per game. The Tigers are allowing 106.3 yards rushing per game and 186.0 passing yards per contest. LSU ranks 15th in rush defense and 24th in pass defense.
The Tigers, who rank in the top 10 nationally in four defense categories, are No. 5 in the nation in pass defense efficiency with a 94.7 rating. In nine games, the Tigers are limiting opponents to a 47.0 completion percentage.
Following its best punting game of the year, LSU moved to No. 2 in the nation in net punting with a 40.5 average. On Saturday against Alabama, LSU's Chris Jackson punted six times for a net average of 45.0 per kick, which included having four punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Offensively, the Tigers are second in the SEC and 39th in the nation in scoring with a 30.0 average per contest. LSU also ranks first in the SEC and 12th in the nation in pass efficiency with a 151.0 rating.
Individually, LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell ranks second the league and 26th in the nation in pass efficiency with a 144.1 rating. In nine games, Russell has completed 150 of 240 passes for 1,979 yards, 12 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Russell's completion percentage of 62.5 ranks first among all starting quarterbacks in the SEC.
Skyler Green ranks second in the SEC and 11th in the nation in punt returns with a 14.8 average. Green, who holds the school record with four career punt returns for touchdowns, has returned 19 punts for 281 yards and one score this season.
