LSU at #3 in major polls, #4 in Harris

LSU remained No. 3 in nation for the second consecutive week in both the Associated Press poll and the USA Today Coaches poll following its 19-17 win over Arkansas on Friday to clinch a berth in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game.

The Tigers, however, slipped one spot to No. 4 in the Harris Interactive poll as idle Penn State moved ahead of LSU this week.

Southern Cal and Texas continue to hold down the top two spots in all three polls heading into the final week of the college football regular season.

Georgia, LSU's opponent in Saturday's SEC title game at the Georgia Dome, is ranked No. 13 in both the AP and Coaches poll following its 14-7 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Bulldogs bring a 9-2 overall mark into Saturday's game against LSU.

Other SEC teams in the polls include: Auburn at No. 9 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches poll; Alabama at No. 14 in both polls; and Florida at No. 17 in the AP poll and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches poll.
