That is, of course, assuming that Lufkin High School's Leonard Hewitt still has a scholarship offer on the table.
"I've been meaning to catch up with coach (Bradley Dale) Peveto but I'm never home when he calls," Hewitt told Tiger Rag.
Hewitt had been listed as a Texas Tech commitment for over three weeks but he says that he never actually committed to the Red Raiders. He says the Red Raiders, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M are still on his radar but he knows exactly where he wants to play his college ball.
"I'm still kind of looking at those three but LSU is the school I want to play for," Hewitt said. "I want to be an LSU Tiger."
Hewitt said if everything works out he will visit LSU with his good friend E.J. Shankle on Jan. 20.
When asked if he would give coach Peveto his verbal commitment on the spot, Hewitt replied, "I'd commit right now if he called me tonight."
Could Hewitt be headed to LSU?
