Thomas, who earned the honor last Monday for his play against Tulane and Connecticut, put together another good week as the Tigers opened 2-0 in league play at Arkansas on Jan. 11 and at home versus Tennessee on Jan. 14.
Thomas scored 13 points and had 14 rebounds, his league-high tying (with teammate Glen Davis) ninth double double of the season against the Razorbacks. Thomas played 35 minutes in the game, hitting 6-of-11 shots and one-of-two free throws in a game that moved him to his current slot as rebounding leader in the league at 10.1 boards a game. LSU won in Fayetteville, 63-58.
Against Tennessee, Thomas just missed a triple double with 17 points, nine rebounds and a season best nine blocked shots. Thomas was 7-of-7 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. LSU played 32 minutes in the game as LSU won, 88-74.
The Tigers travel to Starkville, Miss., on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game against Mississippi State University at Humphrey Coliseum. There is no television for the game, but it will be broadcast on the affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network and on the Geaux Zone powered by USAgencies at LSUsports.net.
LSU returns home Saturday for a 2 p.m. game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center against the University of Alabama.
